In backward, unenlightened societys it is possible to control people by means of what they believe. Christianity is a perfect example of that. If you good, and you do what your told you go to the best place ever, correct? If you're bad, if you don't do what your told, or abide by their rules, don't do what everyone thinks is right, or behave as you are told to behave, then fire and brimstone happens. This makes you easy to control, and they can be comforting too. it's much simpler to make decisions about how to live you life with the guidelines right there. But the only way to make a decision is of your own free will. You yourself must way up the consequences, not this, horrible fraternity of the "church". No one should tell you what is right and wrong. That's what free will is about. I find it ironic that America, priding itself on free will, does this the most, and gets rid of this will. Oh and let's not forget the church has parents tell their kids what to believe, instead of giving them a choice, like my parents did. Oh and the whole, believe what we believe or else thing is also horrid is so many ways.
