Does anyone here have the new Windows Vista on their PC? It looks sweet.

I've already decided to get it. Once they fix out the bugs and all, my parents will be buying me a new computer with Vista on it. It's a big upgrade from windows ME. Then I'll be able tto make flash, use dreamweaver, fireworks, and play sweet video games.

People who have it tell me it's awsome, but I've never had my own experience with it.

Yeah, I'm also planning on it getting it! Those who I know who have it, say it's awesome. Especially with the 3-D desktop! ;D

I really want it but my brother doesn't want it because he says," If you want vista just get Apple. Vista is pretty much the same thing! They copied it!" I don't agree with that but he sy it at Best Buy.

But where the hell did the name 'Vista' come from? Oh well better than calling it windowes 2007 or what ever.

Vista may be similar to MacOSX, but it only took things from it cuz they were good ideas. Then it added a few new things. I personally don't like those Mac commericals that make fun of the PC cuz that shows that Apple is sinking low enough to make fun of their competition.

The reason why people like Microsoft now-a-days is because it's cheap. It used to be the best thing to play games on, but that's been fixed. I would get a Mac, but they're too expensive, so why I'm getting a Dell XPS with Vista.

All of these people say that I should just save up and save up for mac cuz it will last longer and all, but people don't realize that it's best to use money for other things too.

Besides, I need money for college, so I better get a cheaper computer. I'll hopefully be getting a Mac later, but for now, Vista is the way to go.

I personally know someone my age with a version of vista and he says that it's a pretty good OS right now as long as you don't get the Home Edition. The Home Edition is like the cheapest version, but it comes with all of the problems.

I don't agree with him either. But to me Vista doesn't seem worth all that money its retailing for, its basically just a fancy version of XP with the 3d desktop.

I got the premuim version of vista and am using it now on my new comptuer. It's a lot better than ME, and I'm happy with it. The only thing that might prove to be annoying is the constant thing asking me if I want to deny or approve certain security measures.

But other than that, it's good!

Funny i now personally HAVE! A Windows Vista despite my objections, and the objections of are local computer techie we had to get to install it. it seems My old Father saw fit to piss away £300 on it anyway.

And its terrible, you can't find anything it wan't load anything without Permission giving despite you personally inserting the disk not matter how many times previously.

None of my games work, and my internet was slow as hell as it wouldn't open a webpage without scanning 10 times.

The only reason i'm able to speak to you is because the Techie smart man that he is kept our old Xp harddrive.

Heres another problem, theres no way to switch between them without entering the mainframe options your self and fiddling with the hardrive settings (Important get a professional to show you how you do it, Don't try it yourself).
Theres a button that says change windows on the vista desktop but that doesn't do anything.

Well, IE just sucks so I use Firefox. But yeah, the security can be a pain but you get used to it. And I don't have a problems loading any CDs. Now games, I haven't had much a problem with cuz all of the ones I've had a problem with have gotten updates to be compatible with vista. I just download them on the internet and BAM let the gamming begin.

Vista runs fast and smoothly for me and the automatic updates install without me even noticing it and it's really neat cuz it'll let me know and I'll be like "heh, i could have never guessed"

Yes, sometimes it can be hard to find a file, but you just need to learn to use the search bar the right way. I did get agervated finding files at first, now it's easy.

I bought Battlefield 2142 for it and it took a few days to get it to work right with the online play cuz my security had issues with the punkbuster. After some waiting and work, I got it working fine and it's as fun as hell! ^^

I have a home windows vista laptop!
(got it a few months ago near december.)
so now i have 3 computers!
(A Compaq computer windows, Windows Vista Laptop, and my Wii's Internet..wait that dosent count..)

What are you talking about, of course a Wii counts. lol
I suppose it's only natural that Vista would have some bugs since it was just released, but it has been out for a while now and I still hear people complain about it.

Well, there is one thing that I'm complaining about right now and that's Vista and Java. For some reason some Java applications don't work on my computer (like the WT chat room >.>) But that's the only thing that doesn't work, so I'm not complaining much.
