On the front of the Wii, whats the blue light for?

If you are talking about the slot light, it's used for when you have Wiiconnect24 set up, which basically is so your Wii stays connected online at all times.
By Default when you get a new message and your Wii is off, the slotlight will glow a dim blue. You can change the options to glow bright blue or just to have it off.
