Already aware we have a couple of Metroid Prime 3 topics around here, I've decided to maintain one that's "official" and will stay updated as information comes in.
So to start off we've got news that the official date, as of now, is
Release Date: August 27, 2007
And we've got some new images.
First off it looks like now we have an official cover:

The eye reflection effect is looking pretty sweet
Sorry for being in url style, but it is the quickest and more practical way.
Typically the stills of this game, like many other Nintendo ones, look much better in motion. So even I, an admitted graphics whore, am still hopeful that this game is stunning.
Speaking of which, here's a low quality video of it. Chosen, however, because the opening scene looks great.

According to Michael Kelbaugh, President and CEO of Retro Studios, there will be no online mode in an effort to make the game more centered for a great single player experience.
"One of the primary design objectives was to give this game a more epic feel... Two, three years ago when we started talking about Metroid Prime 3 with Mr. [Kenji] Yamamoto, who's done the audio for all the Metroid games since the inception; we explained that we wanted the audio to convey a more epic feel. And you'll notice that it certainly has a much bigger feel to it. There are a lot of horns and big, dramatic sweeps. Mr. Yamamoto really put a lot into creating a much broader, more grandiose feel."
Honestly, I think it's a great choice. I know the multiplayer experience for MP2 was not the greatest.
