Well, since it's august, summer break's almost over  so I figured I'd post a topic about how i'm homeschooled. Being homeschooled is pretty cool, I'm normally done with my work by noon, also, I don't have to start until Labor Day! (while most schools start late august) and, the schools around here are terrible. The teachers don't try to teach, and the students don't try to learn. So i'm glad to say that homeschooling will make me a smarter person! The only thing I don't like about homeschooling would be that I don't make many friends. My life is mostly online...  I figured I'd ask if anyone else here is homeschooled! |

Nah. I wish I was though. Almost everyone in my school doesn't care about learning. They're just there to see their friends or girlfriends. It pisses me off because they say I'm smart. All I do is listen every 5 or 10 minutes in class. I do wish I was home schooled though...

I have a friend who's mom is an over pretective "born-again" christain and she had him homeschooled. But she doesnt teach him, she has him watch DVDs in his room and answer questions that come with them. The only thing she does, is correct the sheets, makes sure he does his work, and buys more DVDs for him.
He's about the same age as me, and she doesnt like him going to chirstain school because she doesnt like the people there, but she lets my friend's younger sister go to christain school with no problems. Doesnt make sense to me either.
The kids got a small social problem, and I'm like one of his only friends, because he is only allowed to meet people from his family and people from church. But they keep on changing churches because the mother doesnt like the people there. So, my friend cant keep a church friend that goes to another church.
The only reason why I'm allowed to go to their house is because I'm a neighbor that has been his friend ever since he lived into the neighborhood and I dont go to church, so I dont bother the mother with my religious practices. But she bothers me with her's.
They recently got a new computer and cable internet so, my friend can go on forums on the internet. But he's not allowed on Newgrounds, and he wouldnt be interested in this site. All he wants to talk about is quads. Because since his mom has given him so much free time, all he does is mow lawn and ride his quad. So all he wants to do is talk about quads, which gets annoying after a while.
I feel sorry for the poor soul.
So yeah, I dont like the idea of homschooling.

I half want to get homeschooled and half don't. I do because I think it would just be fun to stay at home and not go any where to go to school.If you want to sleep later you can just stay a little later after what time you ussually end. I don't becuase than I wouldnt have any social life instead of camp so I wouldn't want that.

I'm homeschooled! Kind of... I went to elementary school for 2 years, and then mom pulled me out. I was homeschooled from then up until 9th grade. Now I go to highschool, but I only go for 2 classes, spanish and an elective of my choice. Other than that, I still do all my regular subjects at home.

I'm homeschooled! Kind of... I went to elementary school for 2 years, and then mom pulled me out. I was homeschooled from then up until 9th grade. Now I go to highschool, but I only go for 2 classes, spanish and an elective of my choice. Other than that, I still do all my regular subjects at home. That seems alright. Not to bad. Still meet people but not have to always be around them. |

When I was young I wanted to be homeschooled. I thought it would be cool, cuz I could eat or watch TV while doing my work.
Foolish me... I then met a kid in the 7th grade who was homeschooled. He was way smart, but also a big showoff. Everyone hated him. Me and my best friend became freinds with him when he first arrived. We would ocasionally help him keep his ego under control by pulling a few...pranks.
From what I learned about homeschooling from him, I found out it was a little harder than going to school. Because YOU are incharge of your work, and you have to make yourself do it. There's no teacher to intimadate you into doing it.
So yeah, I guess I'll just stick to learning the basics at school,
and learning bout computers at home.

im homeshcooled and i dont have a problem.its really called sattelite shcool but its really just a fusion between public school and homeshooling.all that "hes not going to miss all the social interaction!"is crap!personally, I HATE THEM ALL >:(if it was up to me those kids would've had two teeth left by the end of first semester.but i controlled my rage and quit that dumb school.i still have 5 of my friend on my cell so that social interaction is all just the shools excuse to get 1 of there smartest students to raise the average of the test scores

Being homeschooled for the most part of my life made me kind of shy I guess.. I don't really talk to people at school much, and they don't talk to me.(unless they need my help for something.. -.-)Since I only go for first and second period, I don't have to ride the bus, I don't eat lunch/breakfast there, and I don't really do any kind of school activities(besides my recent trip to mexico), so they really don't know me very well. Yeah, so I don't have friends from school. But I could if I wasn't shy. Personally I don't care though, from my experiences they just try to use you, for the most part. I prefer to just have online friends. |

Homeschool would be teribble for me. Beside the lack of social behavior, I just wouldn't be able to get the work done. I know I wouldn't.

The best part about being able to go to school is lunch. You get to eat with friends and you get to talk and joke around. If I didnt go to lunch, I would be a very shy person.

The jokes, the food, the friends. I actually have very little time left over after eating lunch. I bring my own lunch then eat the cafetreia one. (Fast metabalisom) Plus I'm talking to my friends. I need chaos inorder to be able to focus. Otherwise I get distracted. |

Food fights = bad. Also, some people give up lunch for another class in my school. How can they stand it!? I mean, its not like they're homeschooled and they can eat while they do their work on their bed.

if it happened at my school I'd just try to catch good food and eat it ;D
