My Wii's been acting funny lately(no pun intended). It's been making strange noises while I'm playing a game or on the internet, has anybody's been acting strange lately .

It's normal for the Wii to make noises like it's a computer. If it's loud and annoying and you cant hear your video game, then there might be a problem.
But if its like a low purring or maybe even an ocasional clicking noise, it's just the Wii doin its stuff. The purring is the disk spinning and...well I dont know what the clicking is, lol.
But you should listen to the xbox 360, it sounds like an old computer if you listen to it, lol. Good thing my bro has one, but uses surround sound so you cant even tell the thing makes noises.

Yeah Bran's right. Even my Wii makes those sounds(omg, this sounds so wierd) It's just the Wii's circuits and what not working.

To help work out the bugs by letting real people use it. They also, check which sites you visit most so they can improve performance on those.

But I thought you can't trace what sites you visit on your wii unless you have them on your favorites... Yeah that's true on individual Wiis, but they're just checking the mass visited sites that get lots of hits. At least this is what I heard, so maybe it's not true, but I'd think it would be in some cases.

OK, I had to dig this post up from the depths of Wii Together to complain about 3 thigs that are happening with the Wii.
1. The noises that originally only happened while I was playing with a game now happen every time I turn on the Wii.
2. Entering channels has become much longer than it originally has. It took me 2 minutes to enter the Virtual Console Channel(as presumed to the original 20-30 seconds).
3. In the past week, my Wii has froze a total of 3 Times.
I said I'd start to worry when my Wii making noises actually became a problem. Well Now It Is.

Now these 2, are good enough to complain about. What I would do, is check nintendo's site about it first to see if it's just you. And if it gets way out of hand, return it for a new one. You DID get a long-term warranty right?

Hmm, either you're wii is broken or breaking, or you are dangerously low on memory. It stinks cuz is you're a big virutal console player, you can't play a lot of those games without having to get an SD card. (thats why I got the metal slug game, so fun)
But just to make sure, has you're wii experience really high or low temperatures? Is it in a small confined space? Are there heavy objects on it? Have you accidentally hit it or dropped it in any way? Are any of you're CDs scrached or been tampered with? Did you spill anything on your wii or has it been in a humid or wet enviornments? Do you have pets that might find some objects to be playful? Is your house really dusty or tends to build dust up really fast? Could you have possibly downloaded anything that might contain viruses onto your wii (I dunno if there are any wii viruses out yet)? Have you gone out of control with you're wiimote in baseball and fling your wiimote at the console?

Actually I myself just recently endured my Wii freezing up. It did it while playing boxing, but I think I know why. The game was going fine till my friend started swinging the wiimote and nunchuk around way fast. It started to lag and then it just froze. First time it did it, too!

Every now and then the Wii acts up on me. Like I wanted to play SSBM, but when I went in, the screen just went black. I tried reseting the console, hitting power, eject, nothing worked. I probably shouldn't have done it, but I unplugged it and plugged it back in. I'm too in-pacient.

Yes I have an SD Card 2.0 Gigabytes, no I have plenty of memory, yes it feels a little warmer than normal, I have droped it a few times by accident, my room does become quite dusty and I doubt any Wii Virus's have been created or ever will be. And BTW, your system did crash when your screen turned blank and that's what's been happening to me. The only thing you can do is unplug the console.

Dust really isnt a big issue, it mainly effects speakers on electronics. And yeah, mine sometimes crashes. In fact, it crashed on me last night when I was playing Splinter Cell before I would return it. I took the disk out and there was a smudge on it, but the wii wouldn't respond to anything I did, so I had to unplug it. It happens to me only once or twice a week, and it doesnt worry me too much, but I hope it doesn't become a big issue later on.

Yeah, that gets me sometimes too. Yesturday I was bored and wanted to check out the shopping channel. While it was loading the wii-mote was inactive and turned off. Once the shop channel was ready, i pushed some buttons to have it register. Well it couldnt register. So I tried pushing the sync buttons on the wii and the wii-mote, but it still didnt work. I had to shut off the wii to get it to work again...

Never happens to me on a game, when it does its where you have to press A right at the start, health and warning me thinks.
