"Nintendo has recalled all 2.3 million Wii-mote straps due to insuficent thickness. Some over zealous gamers expeirenced a Wii bit of TV damage from flinging thier Wii-motes wildly. Therefore nintendo will be recalling all Wii-mote straps to replace them with thicker ones." First sued, now this Nintendo seems to be having a rough time as of late. Don't worry though. Nintendo views this as an oppourtunity to show how Nintendo puts the customer first.

I don't even use the strap anymore because it improves my feel free gaming experiance, people should try that more to see if they can be more careful without it. But I guess putting the customer first is alway's smart, shows you really care unlike a certain other company I could mention *cough**cough*ps3*cough**cough*.

Don't feel sad. This isn't the first time we hear a system getting recalled for an error. I still remember last year when the 360 came out and it was recalled for the air vent that made the system heat up very fast. Also when the PSP came out is was recalled for the many dead pixes it had.
So this is my words of wisdom or advice of wisdom: Don't get any system on the day it is launch. Wait for the major issues to pass (like the recalling of the system) and then get the system when it is passed the recall. You will have a better system then what the original launch systems had.

Your words of widom are a little inaccurate. It's because we buy the systems on day 1 and use them that they manage to find these errors in the system. Lets say only about 30 people baught an Xbox 360 on day 1, because it went through all the proper stages of Beta Testing people would assume the system was fine even if all 30 complained. By summer next year when they have an increased amount of numbers and people are buying them out, then they'd find all the problems but they'd have to recall more systems than usual and then they be in trouble. When you think about it the launch day is actually the day testing the console's begin by us. So in retrosepct were all unofficial Beta Testers.

Yeah, then we begin sending letters to the companies and to the game magazines about the errors of the system. That's when everyone hears it and then begin to discover it too.

I don't know If I'm going to get my strap replaced. I barley use the strap and when I do, I like how it's thin. It's easier for everything.

Nintendo is smart for making that recall. Even though the breaking of the straps are due to the people's fault, it's nintendo's responsibility to take the blame.
They made games that would require movement that might cause some players to lose controll. So they have their safety strap there. But it's a false sense of security since it breaks. Therefore, nintendo has to have the recall unless they want to get sued by some pissed off loser who broke their HD TV and Wiimote by swinging the wiimote like a baseball bat causing him to spin cuz he sucks at swining and he isnt holding onto the wiimote tight enough, so he lets go of it and the strap breaks.

I don't even have an HDTV so I play all my games on a really terrible telavision that has dead pixels, but I would never lose control of a Wii-Mote even if I got an awesome Tv and game like Super Mario Galaxy or Wario Ware Smooth Moves. Not to mention it doesn't even sound possible no matter how many times I hear it, I mean couldn't we atleast get a picture of this allegad Broken Wrist Strap.

Nintendo is recalling them so that They don't get sued countless times because of peoples stupidity.

I have yet to play any Wii game where I have to swing the controller that hard. All it takes is a flick of the wrist, not every ounce of swinging strength you have. Sure the campaign that NOA is a good idea, it also tells people it is ok to swing that hard...whats next, NOA get sued due to kids are tearing muscles or tendons swinging to hard?

People get too excited and thats what nintendo wanted. If you look at the wii previews the people are moving their arms about and jumping around like fools. Some people see that and they're like "I want to have that much fun too!" People cant controll themselves (ADHD, lol) and they just excert themselves too much and bam. Nintendo should take responsibility cuz they knew people would do it but they didnt worry too much about the straps I guess. Or maybe people in Japan dont get as excited as Americans, lol.
