I've noticed, during regular play, my Wii remains at room temperature, but when in standby mode (with WiiConnect24 on) it gets very hot. So i'm forced to turn it all the way off.
Anyone else have this problem with thier Wii?

Actually I have noticed that it stays a bit warm even when it's off. But It's not that much of a problem.
My guess is that the fan isn't on to keep it cooled down. Either way I think it's not all that warm. It's just relative to how you expect an inactive/off object to be.

Hey just to let u know the Wii's fan is inactive during standby mode. But I thought Nintendo had gotten around it getting hot in standby mode. Good for them to do it though so ur mum doesnt think its on and just turns it off at the power point. Still waiting to get mine anyways doesn't come out here untill dec 7th.

Well I guess since this kind of goes along with this I'll ask. If the light is red does that mean something? If it's yellow does that mean standby?

Red means the wii is off, yellow means that wiiconnect24 is on (standby mode) Yea I noticed that the wii does get a little warm during standby mode, but I'm sure the heatsinks absorbing the heat help it from hurting itself.. nintendo thinks ahead.
