Life, it would seem, has a cruel sense of humor at times. Yesterday I woke up sick with a bit of the flu and it just happened to be the day that I had been waiting months, almost a year, for. My friends kept of trying to push me to go to the Wii launch camping plan we had set up over at our local Best Buy but I was just feeling way to down for it. But My friends Tim and Nathan, both are members of the site, went ahead anyway. I stopped by around 3 am to see them and handed my buddy the 275$ that would cover the Wii cost and left back home to rest. Finally about 4 hours later my friend came by dropped off the Wii and wen't home after, what i'm sure, was a long day for all of us. So a big thanks goes out to both of them for helping out a downed friend and with any luck all three of us will be playing some hilarious Wii party game all together really soon Again, I have no pictures of the huge line over at Best Buy or anything like that because I was just to sick to attend, but Here's a couple of pictures of the Wii once I got it home and my family enjoying it. that awesome box on my bed: Inside the box: lol, Composite cables for the loss: The holy device itself: My Brother in Law using the Wii for the first time: I'll update it with more pictures later on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok guys Go ahead and tell us all your stories, whether they are long or short, and your experience of Wii launch day. Pictures and Videos are welcome!

Well, I waited in line for 6 hours at Best Buy this morning to get one of the 86 Wiis they had and I was lucky that I was the 35th guy to get one. Everyone in my family are now into the Wii that all four of my family are having a small tournament in the Wii Sports to see who is better. Good thing I'm not in the tournament. Instead I'm playing both Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (I left out where Link becomes a wolf and finds Medina...I guess that's how it goes???... in the jail cell.) & Call of Duty 3. I thought that the graphics were going to be almost like the Gamecube but I was way wrong. It almost looks like the PS2 & Xbox 360. I like it. Now my mission is to beat LoZ:TP in less than 2 weeks.
I'm going to put some photos here and in my myspace profile.

The night before I went to bed at 9:00 so I could get up early at 6:00 the next day. I left the house and arrived at Walmart and THere was like 50 people and they had a list. It was completey full. THe guy yelled out that it was full but most people didn't here except me. I quikly left and got to Toys "R" Us where there was 10 people waiting calmly in a civilized lineup unlike at Walmart where there was 50 people all crowding the door at the same time (lol). I waited in line for an hour than someone came and handed out tickets that said we would definetly get a Wii and what place in line we were in. The store didn't open for another 4 hours so I just went home. When I came back 4 Hours later there was 100 people running through the door at the same time. I just walked and laughed at them thinking of the fact that they were sold out and I was the only one getting one ( ;D) I went in stood in ANOTHER hour line just to learn its the wrong line so I got in the other one and finally got my Wii. Than I had to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes for the cashier. I didn't have enough money for any games or exra controllers ( ) but my birthday is soon [for some reason my birthday screwed up on the calender ::] so I will get one with either my own money or for my birthday or christmas) but Wii sports is still very cool. I have to say the motion sensory ROXX!! yah if you havent bought one yet BUY IT ITS AMAZING!!! THe first game im getting is Exite Truck

Lol, Albert, I was sick too. But I didnt have the flu, I had larengitus. (spelling?) In case you dont know what that is, its a form of a cold that only effects your thought and makes your voice all scrachy and hard to hear and it hurts to talk, but I talked anyways cuz we were in the line for the nintendo Wii. Ohhh yes, I went with a friend to a 24 hour walmart in PA. We got there at 8:00 in the morning on saturday with a laptop, a DS, SP, two folding chairs, some snacks, and other stuff and sat on the line for 16 hours. Tere was one guy ahead of us and he arrived at 12:00, so he waited for 24 hours. The guy in first was very nice, in fact he bought us hand warmers and we held eachother's spots whenever we went to eat or use the bathroom or went to electronic department to play Guidtar Hero 2. His name was AJ, he was a father and his went away from his family for a Wii. Eventually the line got up to over 40 people and throughout the day we had DS games, music and we watched the star wars mini series, it was fun. But the funny thing is, my friend Rob came and didnt get a wii for himself. He was given money by my mom and he bought my cousin's X-mas present. Rob basically came with me to hang out and goof around and he would get free food, so he was excited. lol After I got the Wii, I went home and went to sleep cuz I was weak from lack of sleep and my larengitus. Today, after my friend went home and my parents went out, I secrely opend the Wii, and played it a bit and then packaged it exaclty the way it came so that my parents would'nt notice. It was hard but I did it. And there were only 33 wiis available at that walmart. Since I was so weak from the day before, I only had enough strength to play Wii Sports for 1 hour and then I packed it up and went back to sleep and as soon as I woke up my parents were home. Man, Wii sports is fun and the Wii is fun, I want wait until I can play it without secrecy when x-mas comes. Anyways, I have some pics: Note: These pictures were taken with my camera phone My friend Rob with a Dunkin Donuts Coffee Rob on the right and AJ (guy in first of the line) on the left. A kid from school that I nicknamed "Bootstraps" on the left. And his friend on the right. Uhh, just some people in line, the guy with the big afro came about 10 min after we arrived and didnt have a chair, so he sat inside a shopping cart but got yelled by the manager shortly after. Me...with coffee...french vanilla light and sweet. The ticket that we were giving saying that I was in 2nd on the line for th Wii. =P My wii with extra controller and nun-chuck attachment and a copy of Excite truck and Zelda.

Last night I waited in line at BestBuy with my freind tim and cousin scott. It was pretty amazing to see those people literally camping out infront of the stores, next door to BestBuy was Toys R' Us as well as Wal-Mart. Also some crazy couple in the BestBuy line brought 2 full size fold out beds. When we got there I went in to ask the guy in the front how many wii's they had and about how many people were in line. He said that they had 99 Wii units (manager probably got the 100th one lol) and approximately 78 or so people were already in line. I said "oh shit" ran home to get supplies and to tell my freind tim to get there as quick as possible. Luckly when scott and I came back 20min later tim was in line. He was number 93, and then I was number 94. Whew! that was a close one. heh We were in for the long haul all night till 8 next morning. It was pretty cool, tim had a TV set and ps1 (I know I forget the N64)hooked up in the back of his car, so we were playing that for a while (almost completely drained his car battery) Plus we had chairs and blankets and laptops. here is some low res video and pics of the line/action I recorded from my digital camera .. (waiting in line and talking to people, we are the second to last lol) www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6p-_CM9U5g(Skateboard ride-by view of the line) www.youtube.com/watch?v=6D88z3LpB_Y

Well, I don't have any cool stories, cuz I had a pre-order, but I went and redeemed it right after gamestop opened (and we only had to wait behind 1 other person!) with it we got The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Trauma Center: Second Opinion Spare Wii Remote Wario Ware: Smooth Moves Pre-Order I wanted a spare Nunchuck attachment, but they only got 1 in (wtf?) and someone pre-ordered it. (I didn't even know you could pre-order controllers) So when we got home, I hooked it up and played it for about 30 minutes, then we went out for lunch, then I played for a few hours until my sis got home for work, and even still I played Wii Sports with her. (mostly bowling) Then she got a turn to play Trauma Center, then about an hour later, I played until bedtime. I need a life..

We have a great life. We're just dedicated people. Pleanty of other people would have waited in a long line for something different. Like for a baseball or football game people sometimes like to wait in line for hours. Just remember that.

Wow y'alls(sp?) times are so long,I only waited 5 and a half hours or so. You see at 6:55 PM on the 18th I went inside wal-mart to ask about the wii and they said the line was outside. My mother and I decided to go home then check every 20 minutes or so seeing as how there was no line. As soon as we walk up to the car we see two people(who were behind us in the elec. section) plop down underneath the sign. At that moment my mother and I knew it was ON so we rush home get my DS,phone and more entertainment together and she lets me go and sit down there. I was actually 6th in line for 20 Wei's they had. I got a spot in between this very nice old lady and the English teacher at the community college here. They were both funny and kept the time off my mind. In short it was quite a fun experience and people should try camping out(if you wanna call it that) like that for something. A pic of me outside and a pic of my wii with me will come later,if I can find them.

Also Bran-Man I think wal-mart gives out the same tickets everywhere because mine looked exactly like that (except said 6)

Well, I was gonna go to a midnight walmart launch, they (walmart) said there was NO interest in the Wii, so I was gonna go at 8, I called before I left, and they said the line was full and they had already turned down around 30 people, so I went over to a Toys R us, and waited 4 hours for them to open, I was 6th in line BTW. The people were nice, we were gonna trade Wii codes aftre we got them, so I gave a few of them my email, but forgot ot get thiers, I havn't gotten an email yet...

My story isn't as exciting as all of ya'll's are, but I had a good time. I casually strolled up to my nearest Target(out in the sticks) and stood in a short line for the Wii. I was #17 out of 33 possible Wiis. The guys in front of me had been there a good while. Except one guy. He was wearing ALL nintendo clothes and gear, and was sleeping in a tent with the Tri-force painted on it. He even had a cardboard cut-out of Link he stuck in line to "hold" his place while he went to the rest room. The guy was about 27 or so. Dedicated much?

It must of been the day before or something. Or is there just not that many people that want Wii's in your town(If so you're reallly lucky )

I know you all have your little stories, but I can safely say that I have the most interesting one out of all of you.
I woke up on the 7th (when it was released in NZ) at 11:00 am, and went downstairs and watched TV. An hour later, the courier arrived and gave me my Wii.
I mean WOW that was an epic time.
