Hello! Nintendo Power came yesterday, and it's the best Nintendo Power since the Wii was about to come out!
REMEMBER: All Release dates are US.
They have a short article on things that will be coming in Late 2007 and Early 2008 (mostly a list), Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, SSBB, Phantom Hourglass, Endless Ocean (Forever Blue in Japan), Mario Kart Wii, Mario Party DS (freakin' sweet!) and Wii Fit.
They have an Article on Super Mario Galaxy (hitting Stores November 12th) It doesn't say much, but it does reveal that some levels will focus on one large planet (like in Mario 64, just one peice of land) some will be the INSIDE of planets, and others will be made of large clusters of tiny planets. Also, in addition to the Bumble Bee suit, there will be a Boo suit, which allows Mario to phase through solid objects.
There's also an Article on Donkey Kong: Bongo Blast, which was originally for the gamecube, but has been ported to the Wii. It's a racing game, DK has bongos strapped to his waist. Originally you would hit the GC Bongos to steer, but instead you shake the Nunchuck and Wii Remote to steer. In order to gain speed, you shake them alternately, but once you hit top speed, you'll stay there 'till you hit something (give your arms a bit of a rest) This game should release September 2007
Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol (Coming out this Fall) also had a short article devoted to it. In the new game for the DS, Chibi-Robo's duty is to clean up the enviroment, starting with a city park. Rather than cleaning the house, and doing other chores to get Happy Points, in Park Patrol, you water Flowers and fix stuff. Not much info on CR:PP yet though.
There's a Big article on Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2 later on, but before that, there's a short one on R:RR2 for the DS, which is almost identical to the Wii, only with minigames made to suit the DS's controls. Coming out this November.
There's also an article for DDR: Hottest Party. In addition to the DDR Pad (which connects to a GC port. DDR: Mario Mix pads are compatible with DDR: HP) there will also be hand movements with the Nunchuck and Wii Remote. DDR: Hottest Party should hit shelves this Fall.
There's also a HUGE Article on Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, (like, several pages) I'll mention the key points. Samus gets corrupted by Phazon, and gains the ability Hyper Mode. You can use it to increase your power, but use it too often, and Samus will become corrupt, and it's game over. Nintendo Power says the controls feel natural, and gives the illusion that you're in the game. Comes out August 27th.
There's an article on SSBB, but it's nothing you can't learn from www.smashbros.com
There's also a section on Phantom Hourglass, which will be all touchscreen controlled. From movement (which is like the touch option for movement in AC:WW) to attacking, it's all stylus. There will also be a Wi-Fi battle mode! It picks up right where WW left off, and looks like great fun. It hits shelves October 1st.
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 will feature a HUGE multiplayer mode (they're building it as multiplayer first, then adding 1 Player) The story is, that after failing to take over Rayman's world, the Rabbids go to earth. They try to blend in with the culture (very poorly) and slowly take Earth over, bit by bit. It will feature direct Wi-Fi leaderboards, but for some reason, no online play.. (unless they didn't announce it yet.) Should Come out late November.
And that's only the first half of the Magazine. This is definately a Nintendo Power to pick up at the store! (Unless you're a subscriber)
Feel free to share your thoughts, and post info on other articles of Nintendo Power that caught your eye.
