...What would happen if the following events happened? (Let's name our demonstration character, 'Person')
Person builds a time machine
Person goes back in time, they then shot thier father when he was 2 years old.
Of course, Person would never be born. BUT if he was never born then he wouldn't have gone back in time and shot his father. BUT he would then be born, and WOULD go back in time and shoot his father. BUT then he wouldn't be born etc.. etc...
WHAT WOULD HAPPEN!?! Would the universe implode? Or would he just die, then and there, without his actions being undone? OR SOMETHING ELSE?!?!?!
This question keeps me up at night...

Well actually real scientists have wondered this same question. Despite the fact that right now it's impossible to go back in time, you can still wonder.
Well, one theory I like to believe is that once you travel through time, you've already ripped yourself from your place in history. Therefore, you now exisit outside of time and space. Living and dying only as a result of direct actions imposed upon you.
But of course, there's always the fact that if you did go back time and try to shoot your dad. You will fail. Since you're obviously alive to go back in time to shoot him. You obviously must have failed. So don't even try.
Well, that's physics for today! ;D

You can view this in one of two ways. One, once you go back in time, you exist in that time period and once you shoot your father, you don't exist in the future anymore, but you exist in that time period and you just live on. (boring)
Another is similar to how a program works. You can mess up one thing and the program can go haywire. So, you break one thing that can even seem small and insignificant, you destroy your future and a different and unwanted outcome results. (Butterfly effect)

I think since he killed his father it made him just return to and alt demintion, causing him to never be born, but since time travel is not likley its just a big mystery....kinda like thinking of what would happen if you where to reach the end of space?

Hamster by stating that it is saying on the way he would probably work his way into an alt dimention and it would infact never happen and he would seace to exist....

what would happen is that the world would enter a state where laws of time no longer exist and would follow the same events over and over again....like in tht sonic x near the end the world was gonna enter a state where basically f*** all happens

I've got another QUESTION for everyone to try and solve:
A man gets out of jail and goes to St. Charles Place, States Avenue, and then Virginia Avenue. The moment he gets to Virginia Avenue he goes broke. Why?
