Nintendo Powers 101, 131 and 140

For some strange reason, I got 3 Nintendo Powers in the mail today.

Issue 101, from October of 1997
Issue 131, from April of 2000
Issue 140, from January of 2001.

No clue where these game from, but they're all pretty beaten up, missing pages, ripped covers, and all the posters are gone. (Though I noticed they didn't take the post card and send in for a replica of Zora Link's guitar, which I would have sent in a heartbeat)

Issue 101 contains a big 10 page special on the N64 game Mischief Makers (one of my personal favorites) and also states that EarthBound64 would be released in Summer of 1998 (It also mentions EB64 as the 5th most anticipated game for the N64) Most of the Player's Pulse letters are about Starfox64, the rumble pack, and complaining about Mario 64's ending.

Issue 131 contains a 9 page special on the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for the N64, a 7 page special on Perfect Dark, and a 4 page special on Kirby 64. There's also this weird newspaper thing in the back of the magazine..

There were a few other articles, but I'm too lazy to type them out. There was an ad for Mario Bros. plumbing, an interview with DK, and some rumor corner thing.

Oh, and EarthBound64 is the 3rd most anticipated N64 game now.

Issue 140 has an article on the Gamecube, a 9 page miniature guide for Banjo-Tooie, and a 5 page mask guide for Majora's Mask. EarthBound64 is not mentioned D:

I thought this was kinda interesting, and figured I'd post it. I did not plan for this post to be over 2000 letters long.

back in school i was reading one of my nintendo powers,and my teacher said she had a bunch of them (her son was a subscriber),so she brought them in,one had a preview for ssbm(and a poster for it,which i now have on my wall) another one had a miniguide for some of the parts from wind waker,and then a different one had an article about the writers having a soul calibur 2 tournament between themselves.

And don't bother with that tl:dr bullshit,we're not retarded.

I still have no clue where they're coming from.

My guess would be that since your family doesn't believe in gifts,some aunt or uncle is just sending them without a word because if they gave you a gift your parents might kill them or something.

Though this theory only works if you have an older cousin who is no longer interested in his/her nintendo power collection.

My "secret admirer" sent me Issue 118 today.

Years ago, we used to rent a particular N64 game frequently, and I remembered it being a lot of fun, but I couldn't remember it's name, or anything about it except for one particular area.

This issue of Nintendo Power had a section on a game called "Chameleon Twist 2" and happened to have a screenshot of the exact thing I remember. Hurray!

well that overall sounds fricken awesome, id actually love to read a nintendo power magazine, over here we have ONM- the official nintendo magazine and i have to admit i havent bought one in ages and i should buy more magazines since im clueless about which game to get except for sonic and the black knight, i was totally clueless with that kirby philosophy thing though

Turns out my sister sold a bunch of old Nintendo Powers and didn't remove the little subscription label for some unexplained reason, the box busted open during shipping, so the post office mailed them to the address on the magazines.

So your theory was wrong, and I was not raped. Yay
