I've noticed on the ps3 and ps2, most of the games are lame and dont seem to appeal to me, even if they're ultra violent or what-not. Because they're not fun. But. As a younger child, I loved playing the ps1 if my brothers were on my n64, and I still have it, but with lack of games So the games to me were better more fun. Which makes me think the console is better than the newer versions. I used to love playing star wars episode 1, I fucking loved it to bits (and i didnt care for the film) it was just fun walking around tatooine with a light saber talking to people then slicing them up. And the game spider man. It had all his enemies and lots of other marvel characters to help you, and make cameos! It was great. And other games like (9) and roswell and also driver 2 and gta. They were all great and fun... So I'm thinking, do you think that because it was sony's 1st console, it was more fresh and the games were just more fun, addictive and playable than in the newer versions? Oh nostalgia

Yeah the Playstation was fun, I got a ps2 for its online ability though and one game Ratchet and Clank. Then there where a bunch of other games like Battlefield 2, and a Star Wars game.

Yeah but they all went to other parties as well to be fair. But this spider man kept me hooked, and it had loads of terrible puns like. "Hey spidey, for this info are we gonna surf the web" ......see, its awesome.

GTA was the only real game I got addicted to on it.I don't care what anyone say's, the first one was the best.
The over head view, the tank's, the killing. It was just perfect.
God, I wish I still had it.

I don't see why people seriously don't like the PS2 so much. It's so much better than the PS1. I never got a ps2 but i've always like the good games they've had for it. Yes, it's not as good as an xbox, but still, better than PS1.
Now the ps3 is just a joke.

It's not that I don't like the PS2, Heck I love it. It's just that PS1 is a little...complex.
It's been debated to be the last of the classic console's, which gives it a nostalgia factor with a next genration touch (being cd based).
Still, I didn't really play it that much, so I can't really comment on it's issue's. All I can really say is people have all sort's of issue's with any type of console. I'm guessing that's why the PS2 get's nagged on so much for being the Best or the Worst. some people just can't really see it inbetween.

You really can't name anything classic because it's not that old really. Something classic would have to be an antique. And to be a technical antique, it has to be 100 years old.

The 4th generation of gaming was considered the last of the classic. Being, the graphic and gaming evolved to a height that matched that generation's PC compatible experiance, showing console's as more of an evolving machine than a fad.
It's too long to go into, just check wikipedia.

I think the ps1 has just got so many, pure and fun gems, that as a kid were totally different to the platforms I was used to, whilst the n64 had all the shooters and adventures, the ps1 had some really weird adventure and different games.

I remember the ps1 having the best graphics ever in like spyro the dragon and the different racing games I had. I don't want to play it again because I'll be like "ewwwww crappy grapics!"

I dont mind graphics, I didnt really like the ps1 graphics back then, they were all square and gritty compared to the sleek smoothness of turok 2 on n64.

Hey, I don't care about graphics. Though it did annoy me when people said the ps1 had better graphics, when the n64's graphics were clearly less gritty and smoother. I mostly play on my old consoles. And belongs a games addictive, fun I dont care about graphics.
