I have a couple questions about Metal Gear Solid. Please don't get angry if they're noob questions:
1. What's the diffrence between Metal Gear Solid 3" Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid 3:Substance? Is Substance the same as Snake Eater but longer?
2. Is there 2 versions of the 2nd game too? If so, how are they diffrent and if one's the same but longer which?
3.What system is the first one for? What is it called?
4. What is the Metal Gear Solid on Gamecube? It's called Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Is it a remake of the firt one? If it is How diffrent is it from the first one? and if it is what other system is the first one on?
5.this ones the last one: Are there any other games in the series that I didn't mention(Not including PsP games)? If so what are there titles and what systems are they for?
Edit: I have found out that Twin Snakes is the first one! Is it on any other systems but gamecube liek the Ps2? I have also learned that there's 2 versions of Metal Gear Solid 2. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 2:Substance. What's the diffrence between them?

Even though i want to i haven't played any of the metal gears yet, maybe i can pick up one of them for my ps2.

Its basically a remake but with better grpahics, (even better than xbox mgs2 graphics) and with all new cutscenes and so on. Also the idea was based on a snes game made by konami, but the original mgs was on ps1. |

I just saw the recent trailer of MSG4: Guns of the Patriots and the game looks awesome with the graphics that it has and the new enemies that kills a group of Taliban look-alike soldiers in a desert city while Old Snake hides behind a broken car and sees all the chaos.

jeez metal gear 4 is looking naff. i loved it in the first one at the torture bit

i am a book of knowledge,and will answer all your questions:
1.mgs 3 substinince(not substance)has a little more content and an over the shoulder camera view
2.they renamed the gamecube version of mgs 2,its the version thats called the twin snakes,i dont know what the difference is between the two versions.
3.there was metal gear for the nes,but i think metal gear solid was on the ps1
4.my second question answers this one
5.i think i mentioned them all.

7. Twin snakes is metal gear solid one with some metal gear solid 2 features such as fps view. It also has expanded dialogue and cut scenes the graphics are superior to the xbox version of mgs2 also.

dont forget the cool conversation with psycho mantis, dont know if its worth it but if you have data of eternal darkness, mario sunshine, windwaker or melee he'll mention it in a very patronising way "sooooo, youve been playing super mario sunshine have you?"
heres an honest question, ok so you may know it already but if you submit or not in torture you get a certain character in the final cutscenes and that character gives you an item to use in your next run through- bandana (have it equipped and any weapon will have unlimited ammo) or stealth gear (makes you invisible to everything except boss's)
which did you choose or will choose now? invisibility or unlimited ammo?
