Okay, so here's the story. My brother tells me that this friend of his has an xbox 360 that he'll sell to me for $150.
It was a premium that the guy got around release but after a lot of use being put into it, he overheated it and it broke. But he used his skills to fix it by putting more heat glue around the CPU chip and putting an extra cooling fan in there. He played the thing for a few days afterwards to make sure that it wouldn't break, and it's working fine. If I get the 360 I'll get a wired controller, the cables to plug it in. The only thing that's being taken out is the guy's hard drive, which is understandable, but i can get another for $100 bucks easily. And I have my brother's and the guy's guarantee that this thing won't break down again, but if it does he'll be able to fix it again.
At first I'm like HELLLZZZ YEAH, GIVE ME DAT 360! But of course, if you have parents that are always worried about money, they get into your head and make you double think things. ><
They're worried since the guy played it so much that the 360 will be all worn out and more liable to breaking from all of the use. I don't think that's true since he's fixed it and everything. And I'll be saving $150 on a premium 360 (if I get a hard drive), but my mom's like "$150, that's it?" My dad's like "well whatever, it's your money" trying to make me feel all guilty and my mom's like "why don't you just use memory cards?"
But the good thing is that my birthday is at the end of the month and I can just ask for my headset, wireless controller, games, etc for then.
and then they have to say the most annoying statement that i hate so much even though they know that I'm a severe gammer that loves all sorts of video games:
"You don't need it, you could use the money towards college, besides, will you really have that much free time with school and all?"
And here is the worst:
"You already have a wii and a comptuer, isn't that enough?"
I can understand them to an extent, but they don't understand the true nature of a gammer... besides, shouldn't they be happy, this is the first console that I'm buying with my own money and I have my own job to pay for it. WTF STOP WITH THE GUIT TRIPPING!
I already told my brother to inform his friend that I want it, so the transaction is probably gonna happen soon. But what do you think I should do?
