Good news. I have the newest issuse of Wizard magazine and it is all about 2007 movies and beyond. So about the Splinter Cell movie...yes. It is in the works. Dreamsworks is working it and that's all that it says.
Also Prince of Persia is also confirm to be a movie. The movie is about the Sands of Time. It seems that it could be a trilogy since Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and The Two Thrones are trilogy in the games. Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean films) is going to produce the film.
Far Cry is confirm and it is going to be directed by Uwe Boll. That does sucks major, also BloodRayne 2 is going to be made by Boll.
As for the others...Soul Calibur isn't going to be made into a movie since Namco is busy on getting set for Soul Calibur IV which this time could come out for all three major systems, also Metal Gear Solid is the same and the creator is planning to make a Metal Gear Solid game for the Wii after MSG4: Guns of the Patriot comes out for the PS3. The same goes for Gears of War, a sequel has been announced which could come out in 2008 since Halo 3 is going to come out this year.

I hate it when they make video game based movies, i really hope they don't screw up Prince of Persia that game was great along with the others. Well i guess we have to wait and see what happens.

Well, the Halo movie is currently canceld but might be brought back later.
But I've heard a few rumors of movies, but these could be total crap, my sources aren't totally reliable:
Metroid
Zelda
Mario (I know there are sever of them out [most of them were only released in japan])
DDR (wtf?)
And I think that's it that I've heard that no one has mentioned

Zelda cold be a good movie, if its made right and not trying to rip off lord of the rings.....
And if it was alot darker than the actual games.....
But there's no real need for it...seeing link does not talk.

I remember some company that made DVD-games had a deal with nintendo on the Zelda frachise and they made crappy games of Zelda with him being a little animated boy. Nintendo hasn't talked to them since.... |

Nintendo hasn't talked to them since.... Yeah that was the philips Disc-I system attachment for the snes. They made 3 games with that, I've seen all the videos of cutscenes and game play. Link has like a souther american voice its pretty funny. And the games were basically photo'd backgrounds with a board moving. They looked pretty funny. Probably worth alot. |

And I think that's it that I've heard that no one has mentioned My sources are telling me that Metroid does have a high chance of becoming a film while Zelda could but Nintendo may put in some backlash on the people who may make it because it would just mess up the series. i don't know about Mario yet. WTF! DDR! How in the hell did that get in with the film news? Crazy. |

Atleast far cry has stuttering craig in. I respect Uwe Boll, his movies arent the greatest but he really does care about what he does, and postal was pretty good.
