It's a bit late to make a thread like this.. (Since Brawl came out 2 months ago, tomorrow) But I got the idea to make a thread to share tales of wonderment from when you got your copy of Brawl!
Let me say, out of every game I've ever pre-ordered, I had the most fun picking Brawl up. Because I went to the midnight launch.
I was lucky enough to get Ness (my melee main) in my first match of the tournament (I think it woulda been better if the characters weren't set to random..) But the controller killed me (Nunchuk + Wii Remote. Not used to using a shoulder button to jump) I came in second though!
I wasn't disappointed in losing the tournament though. Did you see that trophy they were giving out? It was hideous! (The guy who won didn't seem to excited when they gave it to him, either..)
After the tournament, there was still an hour of time to kill, so we just hung out and played Brawl. So much fun!
After I got my copy home, I stayed up until around 4 or 5 in the morning, then I was forced to go to sleep. I then woke up in about an hour and played again.
So what sort of experience did you have when you picked up your copy? (This will be a boring thread if I'm the only one who went to the midnight launch... I can see it now "I went into Gamestop, and picked up my copy. Then I went home.")
