fixing your wii, and the trauma

sorry i haven't done a picture lately, the next one will be zero-suit, as long as i get my pad cleaned up...

but my anguish is, for the past few months I've been dealing with a problem with my wii, and i wanted to share my experience, and maybe we can all learn something...


chapter one: the problem

ok so what was my problem? i had these weird colored stripes running down the screen, i first noticed them while playing Mario galaxies, i played the ENTIRE game with this problem.... why? because i don't like spending money, and i thought id have to, to get it fixed... also, my dad kinda put me off by saying Nintendo probably wouldn't do anything about it... dammit.... i stood November.... 11th? was it? i live in Canada, it was FREEZING! and i stood and waited all night so i would be the fourth person to get my wii... and id do it again in a heart beat! and now my thinking is, i might actually HAVE to, since people still cant get a wii without waiting in line forever for one...

ok so, i don't want to have to buy a new one, no ty 250$ is still 250$!!

so, i put up with it... i played any game i had with this problem, i loved my wii, and we've been through some things let me tell you...

so whats my point... hold your horses I'm building drama here!


chapter two: the motivation

i didn't get excited about brawl, until just recently when i found out Olimar was going to be in it, plus i just heard the awesome battleship halberd music and i just went nuts...

my dad is buying a super tv, and I'm still going to have nasty colored lines ruining my brawl experience... no ty.. DAMMIT! i want to see things in their FULL GLORY! I'm not putting up with this!

chapter three: how to fix your wii

if you've skipped everything but this, np! i understand...

heres what i did, i still have my packaging for my wii.. its true, i don't know if everyone does that but i did...

theres a repair number... i called it... 1-800 something, you should be able to look it up easily enough... but heres the funny part, my warranty expired a month and a half ago... OH NO!! DAM!

but hey, the news isnt all bad, for only 75 dolla -- SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS?!? ARE YOU NUTS?!

did you know if you register your wii on nintento.com you get a 90 day extended warranty? yes you can exploit what is rightfully yours, and thats what i did, and i was able to do that, and what you do, is you get one of those foolish answering machines, you fiddle with the thing until you get problems with wii>troubleshooting>other an associate will be right with you...

so today i had to take my wii all the way to Scarborough from Toronto... a long trip... but it was fun, and i handed my wii to them, and they say they'll fix it...




Saturday ....chapter four: did they fix my wii?

feel free to tell me how long i drew this out, i thought it was neat... if i had waited two more weeks, i would have had to shell out 75$ to fix my poor baby...

as it is, its like leaving your cat at the vet over night.. im worried >.<

Did you really have to go all the way to scarbrough? you couldn't just send it into the store you brought it from? I probably missed something here.

no i really had to go to scarborough, the store wont replace a year old wii, the warrenty is only good from nintendo...

ps: i got my wii back and it seems to be in perfect condition, turns out they just replace the wii, also i get another year warrenty .....nice...!

Whenever I click on the disc channel and a GameCube disc is in it has white strips on it but nowhere else. Does anybody else's do this? I don't know if it's broken but can somebody tell me if it's supposed to do that? It only happens on the GameCube screen and not when I'm playing the game.

If you're still having the problems, try taking out one of the video cables and...wait are you using Composite ones or the regular Yellow white red one?

i think my wii damages any tv i use it on,cause a yellow blotch now will slowly appear on the 3 different tvs ive had the wii on,the blotch doesnt come up too much,about once a week,alot more when im playing the wii though though.

Never had a problem with my wii. But atleast I know what to do now.
