Future Nintendo Systems

Well just making this for any predictions on what is going to be the next system's look and the name for it after Wii joins the rest of the older Nintendo family members some time in 5 to 8 years (average life of video game consoles). So what are your guesses?

its a cycle,every 3-4 years they make a new system to freshen things up.im sure unoriginal sony will create the ps4 . and theres other forums on this site,why dont you look at the general section or the retro section.

I'm guessing between 2 1/2 years to four.

nintendo says that in the future there will only be ultra-powerful portable systems. sony says there will be only super computers that only do one thing:play games.while microsoft just sits there and looks ugly.

hmmmm I'm not sure about that. I've heard rumors that the PS3 is possibly their last hurrah in the console war.

Also I voted 5 years because I really do have high hopes. I think if the NES and how that was such a revolution at the time when it hit homes and it's laster a long time. I do see the Wii having potential, and it's time to see what happens in only a few months.

I'd say 5 years.... well um yeah that sounds right but maybe 4 years.

I feel that this one will last longer than the others, cuz Nintendo could try doing upgrade things on the internet to make them better, but I wouldnt count on that. Also, this one is very different from the other consoles so it could last longer, or sadly shorter, only time will tell.

This brings up another question. What will happen to this site when the Wii and DS go retro? Name change, or it could be a retro site in itself.

please don't be a fanboy on this site. I have enough of that on Newgrounds. Anyways I don't erally care if they Sony stops making them. It won't effect Nintendo thatmuch(not counting sales).

You most certanly can and no one should be saying otherwise, all we want is the flamming of other fanboys or consoles to stop.

But back to subject, the Wii will last longer because it can play every gamecube game unlike xbox360, but like the PS2. That was one thing that I liked about the PS2 that and the ability to play DVDs. But Xbox can do that too now. It would be kinda nifty if nintendo did that.

You know wut would be neat? If nintendo did another deal with Opera and made a web browser for the Wii, now that would make the system last a lot longer.

actually,nintendo said that the wii can play reguler dvds.and they're making a web browser for the ds lite

Actually Nintedo did make another deal with Opera. I was reading the latest EGM and it said that there is going to be Opera on the Wii. You'll be able to pull up a virtual keyboard while you're looking on it.

Sweet, would you look at that, the WiiMote can act as a mouse. Man the Wii will kick ass!!!

Well, the gamecube can have 4 players.

But I didnt like the PS2 that much cuz if you play a game like Battlefront 2 on that and then go on Xbox, the graphics are so much better on the xbox and the colors seem brighter.

Also, the only game on the PS2 that I liked was Kingdom Hearts.

Ya even though I hate Sony and the controller layout I have to admit the Ps2 was pretty good. I still hate Sony but I don't think they're that bad.

my main system is ps2 i have about 20 games for it, i have 3 games for gamecube. Ive never had any problems with my controllers breaking, but then again i dont like to throw them on the ground when i get mad at a game or anything. And about the 4 players, u can buy i multitap, wich i understand is inconvenient and costs more money but its possible. Ps2 has alot more online games also, if your into that sort of stuff. I guess i am a post super nintendo - playstation fan boy =0. That could all change with wii, and the failure of ps3 who knows.
Sorry for gettting off topic so...
I estimate wii holding up for 3-4 years.
