Which is your favourite?
For me, it's SMB3. The sheer amount of levels and taking to the skies for the first time is priceless.

Can you count Mario 64 as retro? I love that game.

I like super mario world best, probably. Followed by smb3 and smb2. Thats my fave side-scrolling platformers.
But my all time fave mario platformer is Super Mario 64.

To be honest, when I said retro, I was thinking along the lines of the NES & SNES platformers. But technically SM64 IS retro, so I'll accept. To be honest, I still prefer SMB3 to 64.

Definately SMB3. There were so many new and interesting features to make it different from SMB1 and 2. I especially loved the ability to store items for later, and the wide variety of items offered! Oh!! And the awesome minigames like slots, mushroom houses, and my favorite--The matching game. I know these things seem simple now, but they sure were awesome back then...Infact I think they are still awesome.

I agree chickopie. But SMB3 did get a little repetetive. Alot of it was all the same. It was still a thrill ride. And it got sooooo intense when you was nearing an end of a level. Because one mistake would cost you dearly.

*Has Happygasm* Super Mario Bros 3 was the best retro... But Super Mario 64 is the best, followed by Paper Mario and Mario Sunshine.
