So I got No More Heroes 2 today.
It's fucking awesome. They pretty much fixed everything I complained about with the first one. The part time jobs are like NES games, and they're quite fun and kind of addictive, as opposed to the jobs in the first one, which got boring after you've done them two or three times.
You don't have to navigate an open world, instead it's a menu-based map, and you no longer have to pay to go to your next ranking battle.
And there's a new roulette move which replaces that super saiyan sort of thing from the first one. I wouldn't suggest reading on if you don't want the coolest thing ever spoiled for you.
You turn into a motherfucking tiger and rip people to shreds as they flee and cower in fear. This is the best thing ever.

From what I can tell, being about 4 hours into the game, if you thought the first one was worth a purchase, this one is worth a purchase.

They made the sidestep or darkstep or whatever it's called much more difficult to pull off in this game.
Immediately after blocking an attack, press the control stick to the left or right, or right before an enemy lands their attack, press the d-pad left or right.
You have to have much better timing in this game than in the last one.
Oh, and make sure at some point after becoming rank 25, you leave your motel room and re-enter. Apparently a lot of people missed this, because not everyone saves every time they do anything at all like I do.

Yes I was speaking of the revenge missions. Kimmy is also triggered by this.
And I agree 100% with your statement about Shinobu. I also hate how at the end of her combo, she just stands there and taunts her opponent. Have you noticed any way to cancel that? Because it kind of sucks when you're left wide open to attacks.

FUCKING SITTING THERE HAMMERING Z TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM THE BOSS WITH A GUN AND THEN GETTING SHOT TO FUCK only way I see to get out of it is to simply not do the whole combo. It's okay, lean to play :3

So the final boss of this game literally has an attack that cannot be dodged, which he spams on occasion.
Can't be blocked, emergency evade in any direction and you'll be hit, and you can't outrun it.
Whether or not you beat the final boss is mostly based on luck, and that's bullshit.
I imagine going into Darkside mode via the ecstasy gauge would prevent damage from it, and I hear unleashing a charge attack gives you the invincibility frames to dodge it, but the changes of having a full ecstasy gauge or managing to have a charge ready when he does it is pretty slim.
I beat him on Mild without any problems, but on Bitter it's fucking torture.

He also has a one hit kill, but it's pretty easy to avoid that as long as you're paying attention.
EDIT: Finally beat the little fucker on Bitter. Wooo.

I heard when attempting bitter mode its best to use the classic controller.

Because you can infinite combo with it? That's the pussy way to do things.
I also think it's more fun with the original controls.

Since there are separate buttons for high and low attacks, you can just alternate and your combo goes on forever. With the Wii Remote, you tend to finish a combo before changing stances.
Other than that, I see no advantage to the Classic Controller, and I actually found it quite crippling when I tried it, because I automatically assume second analog = camera control, and was rolling all over the place.
