A wiseman would say that it's best not to choose sides in a war of opinion unless you wish to debate till your blue in the face. But on this one...I gotta go with the ninjas. For these reasons:
1)Ninjas are more popular (Naruto, Ask a Ninja, etc...)
2)Ninjas sound cooler to most people
3)Ninjas are seen as stealthy and very smart, where as pirates are seen as dumb and drunk.
4)And lastly, ninjas come from Japan...have you ever seen something from Japan that people don't like?! Videogames, Pocky, Electronics, Sushi...need I go on?
However, if you actually got to know more about pirates you'd see they aren't that far behind ninjas, just not as popular maybe.
After Blackbeard the pirate set his own beard on fire to intimidate people! A flamming beard!! That would make me shit my pants!
