I got a question, what does this quote means? I mean I've heard of it in "V for Vendetta" and it tells something about an event that happened in the U.K. and the Parliament.

In 1605 Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspirators attempted to blow up the Parliament of the United Kingdom with 36 barrels of gunpowder in the cellars of Westminster Hall. On 5 November, Fawkes was arrested and Parliament was saved. That night is now celebrated as bonfire night by filling the sky with exploding fireworks, and by burning an effigy of Guy Fawkes on a bonfire.

Remember, remember the fifth of November.
Gunpowder, treason, and plot.

I love V for Vendetta, I read up on this guy fawkes fellow and now I am more knowledgable* about it now. To the brits,is anythign said about him in y'alls history books?

Man that movie rocked. I think it's about a guy that planned to attack the bad goverment but they found out and hung him. Anyways does anyone know what you're supposed to do on the 5th of November?

Ah yes, V for Vendeta is one of my favoties. Anyone remember that entire pharagraph he said that was made mostly of words with "V"s in them? I so wish I had that pharagraph on paper so that I could memorize it. My friends would be so jelous.

Wow i really hated V as i found boring tedious and quite frankly absurd. The hero tortures a women for a year actually kills policemen and straps bombs on people.

Hell even the author of the 1980's Graphic Novel hated it. In short if your not from Britain or weren't around during Tatchers Britain and the Winter of Discontent, then you won't really understand the Actual plot of the novel and thats proberbly why you like the film for its action becuase the plot was just bland .

Which is ashame as the book is much better.

Also NO Guy Fawkes was not out to end the evil parliament he was a Religious Zealot not freedom fighter.

He's full plan involved using the Kings surviving Sisters as a puppet for a Catholic regime while his co conspirators rallied the Catholic population to his cause. Had he been sucessful he would either have started a Holy Civil war or installed a murderous regime in power.

Catholics saw Protestants as evil and butchered them where ever they could.

So don't be fooled Guy Fawkes was not a hero he would of been a Theocratic Despot.

Lol, I didnt like the movie cuz of the history, I just liked the explosions and how V talked. Yeah, he talked fast, but it was neat cuz he sounded all cool and sophisticated.

The plot is a little hard to catch onto, but by the end of the movie, I understood it.

Thats my second gripe the action is rubbish. Theres hardly any at all. The bit at the beggining was alriight abit of a streetbrawl with secret police but the rest just seemed empty or just an excuse to use special effects.

dont know whether its been answered but its a little british song in remembrance of the events that guy fawkes tried to blow up the houses of parliament, its why on the 5th we all grab a bunch of fireworks and watch em go off while eating barbeque food, some people like to have bonfires too
