Nintendo World Index All our stories in one handy location. by Anoop Gantayat US, November 3, 2006 - Nintendo brought Wii to the masses in Japan today, letting the public get its first hands-on experience with the new console prior to the 12/2 Japanese launch. The Nintendo World event kicked off in Nagoya today as part of a three-stop tour that will continue next week in Osaka, then two weeks after that in Tokyo.
We couldn't wait to get some hands-on time with the Wii and its huge lineup of titles for 2006 and beyond, so we boarded a Shinkansen bound for Hiroshima and got off when we thought we were in Nagoya. After a couple of transfers, we at last arrived at the Port Messe Nagoya exhibition hall.
Nintendo had converted one section of the massive event space into a Wii showroom, with dozens of playable units, dozens of unplayable Wii girls, and a couple of stages housing tournaments and new trailers for big titles like Smash Bros. Brawl. We even found a DS section with some big upcoming portable titles!
We've been posting stories and media all day, but for those who haven't been keeping up, here's a quick access guide to everything. We're still working on getting more impressions and media, so keep refreshing this page!
And there is alot of links in there.
