Recently people have been pissed off, thinking Nintendo is lazy with the localization work on the game. However, when the Nintendo Distributors in Sweden were asked on the matter, one of the staff from the crew didnt come with an answer but a reason why exactly we aint getting it, its not because Nintendo are lazy, rather the opposite:
The game was intended to be released shortly after the NA release. However, during the conversion, there were issues established.
As Many of you know, Brawl is the first Wii game to feature the Dual Layer DVD Disc. But during the conversion to the PAL format, the game lost functionality, and the conclusion came that the game wouldnt work on a Dual Layer DVD in PAL format. Nintendo had two options, either lower the quality over the immense CG cutscenes that filled alot of the game, or, cut the languages in the game. The PAL format was intended yet to have 5 languages, English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. They chose to go with the second version, thus, the game will have two versions both with English languages, but different additional ones. This means that the European Brawl wont be released on a Dual Layer DVD, but on a normal DVD with 4.7 gig capacity. This means alot will be changed in the European version. Particularly these two things:
1. Excessively lowered Loading times.
2. No Disc reading problems due to a normal DVD, and not a Dual Layer DVD.
